Preparing for a Session:
What to wear? Sessions are fully clothed.
Please wear comfortable clothing that is easy to move in (ex: something you might wear to the gym or a yoga class).
Forms:
Please take a moment to download and fill out the new client paperwork- you can download the forms in the Forms tab.
What to expect:
A therapeutic bodywork session consists of a series of hands-on techniques that allow the body to release unhealthy patterns. Contact is feather-like to moderate, depending on the technique. I support your body in various ways, depending on your situation, specific needs, and what your body presents. It does not feel like a spa-style massage. The idea is to facilitate your body's own resolution, in returning to balance, freedom and ease.
During a session, people describe feelings of deep relaxation, increased spaciousness in the body, nourishment, and entering dream-like states. Clients report less pain, more mobility, better balance and alignment, increased energy and vitality, more regular sleep patterns, and generally feeling stronger and more resilient.
Transitioning after a session:
I advise allowing a window of time after the session to gather yourself. As this time can be deeply relaxing, it is helpful to allow your system the opportunity to gently ease back into your daily life. Staying hydrated after your session helps the body to digest and process the work.

How many sessions will it take until I start to feel better?
Each person responds differently to this work.
Some people feel a shift immediately, and for others it takes more time.
Depending on your unique situation, and how long this particular pattern has been established in your system, will determine how you process the work, and how much time it will take for things to resolve.
I recommend 4-6 sessions on average to get a clear sense for how your body will respond to the work (sometimes a few sessions is enough). Then, depending on the severity and the nature of your particular issue, we'll come up with a treatment plan that makes sense. If you've had your symptom for a long time, it may take longer to resolve.
It takes 3 days after receiving a session for your body to fully digest the changes taking place.
This is a time when your system is processing new information and exploring new possibilities gained during the session. For this reason, I encourage my clients not to make any conclusions about the effects of the work for at least 3 days following their treatment. As with many therapeutic modalities, this window of time may bring ease or an activation of the symptoms. It is important to be aware of the larger arc of the healing process, rather than get too focused in one phase or particular response.
