Andrea McGinnis is a certified Gyrokinesis® & Gyrotonic® trainer, practiced in these methodologies for over 13 years, she has studied with numerous master teachers, including: Domini Anne, Adrianna Thompson, Nora Heiber, Debra Rose, Magali Messac, & Kathy Van Patten. She currently works with clients at several Bay Area Gyrotonic studios throughout the greater Bay Area. Additionally, she is certified to teach on the following specialized Gyrotonic equipment: Jump-Stretch Board, Gyrotoner, and Archway apparatuses. As a professional dancer, bodywork practitioner, personal trainer & movement instructor, Andrea's passion for creative exploration and expression, alongside her dedication to discipline and form, have guided and shaped the development of her approach. A former ballerina with the San Francisco Ballet, she continues to dance ballet/modern professionally, currently performing with SoulSkin Dance & Metamorphosis Ballet.

Profoundly impacted by the practice of Continuum Movement, she has studied extensively for over a decade with the innovators and master teachers of this field, including the Emilie Conrad, Susan Harper, Mariane Karou, & Cass Phelps. At the core of her personal practice and all her offerings is the process of creative inquiry. Her experience with this work has inspired her to share from the heart of her own journey, and she offers exploratory movement workshops that are born from the depth of this inquiry. Andrea is also a Licensed Massage Therapist (since 2012), and enjoys offering her innovative bodywork sessions throughout the Bay Area.

"
I believe that one's own innate connection with the body and ability to freely express and engage through it, is one of the most precious joys and gifts of being alive. To inspire others to actively participate in the physical frontier of their own evolution, to which there is no upper limit of growth & intricacy, is my passion and purpose in sharing movement in all it's forms."      ~Andrea

Emiko Oye...
Offers MELT method classes and specific workshops at InBody Center. As a lifelong yogi, former dancer, and owner of an art-jewelry business emikooreware, my body has been through the wringer - from misaligned postures to injuries to repetitive stress issues. While I thought I was taking care of myself (i.e. eating cleanly, having energy work done, meditating, restorative yoga), I felt sluggish, my joints were achy, and I’d wake up with numb feet and what felt like the beginning of arthritis in my hand. In 2018 my massage therapist introduced me to MELT, and I was hooked! Incorporating MELT into my daily routine, I truly began to feel my body get back on track and feel younger and more internally attuned than ever before. With a consistent practice, chronic shoulder and foot issues waned, as well as my tinnitus, PMS, and pelvic pain. I can’t imagine a day without MELT - it’s saving my hands as an artist, and rejuvenates me when my body is feeling cranky.

My wish is to bring the benefits of MELT to everyone who cares to have better health and is willing to do the work - whether it be melded into the yoga classes I teach, private sessions, or to specialized groups that may not even be within the fitness realm. A unique benefit to being a MELTer is that it’s a built-in self-care ritual that helps you have non-judgmental empathy for your body and over time, have more empathy for others.

In addition to being a MELT Method® Instructor, I’m also a Yoga Alliance Certified Yoga Teacher in Forrest Yoga (RYT-200), Relax and Renew® Level 2 Restorative Yoga Instructor, Monnier Method Hatha Yoga Instructor (200-hr). I continue to train under Sue Hitzmann (MELT) and Judith Hanson Lasater (Restorative Yoga, Experiential Anatomy, NVC).
